Yesterday we had a wonderful day out at this super venue - once again a huge thank you to the organisers, the sponsors and the judge and steward. The Haras de Bel Air is situated near Tours, just a couple of hours away from us.
We had intended to take Easy Rider de Maïka to present in hand and to do the Open Ridden class but he sustained a nasty cut just near to his mouth a couple of weeks ago (practically recovered now - of course!!!), so we decided to substitute his grandson, Orient Express de Maïka, our yearling section D colt, at the last minute.
We always have to ensure that the colts and stallions will travel together happily and without fuss, so it is very important to match them together, which can make entries that little more complicated!

It was a glorious day, quite hot - it was lovely for everyone to have their picnics by the little lakes under the trees, what more could you ask for!
Both ponies won their respective classes to go forward into their section championship, we were very pleased once again, with their excellent behaviour throughout the show.
Hilin Dallas went on the be Champion Section B - the judge said he was a very quality pony with a great walk and she loved his head.
Orient Express de Maïka took Reserve Champion Section D, to a very successful older section D mare, and in excellent company generally in the Championship. The judge said that she can see real promise in him for the future and she could not find fault with him.
